Historical Background

The Notre Dame International Peace and Harmony Club is one of the oldest international relations clubs in Bangladesh and the first at the high school/college level. Originally established on February 20, 1993, as the Notre Dame International Understanding and Relation Club (NDIURC), it was rebranded to NDIPHC in 2025 to better reflect its mission of fostering global dialogue, peace, and international cooperation.

Mission and Objectives

NDIPHC serves as the premier hub for student-based international relations activities at Notre Dame College, Dhaka. The club focuses on providing members with academic and professional development in international relations, educating students about diverse countries and cultures, analyzing global challenges, assessing the future of world politics, and encouraging critical thinking about current affairs. It is the main forum for Notre Dame students to expand their international affairs studies beyond the classroom.

International Partnerships

The club maintains strong working relationships with prestigious organizations including the American Center Dhaka and British Council, providing students with valuable global networking opportunities and access to international resources.

Major Achievements

NDIPHC organized the first-ever Mock Model UN at Notre Dame College and launched the inaugural Notre Dame College Model United Nations in 2017. The second session in 2018 attracted over 500 participants, making it one of the largest Model UN conferences in the country. The club has successfully organized NDCMUN conferences in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2025, alongside notable events including The Education Fair, Bangladesh Model United Nations, multiple Intra-College Model UN conferences, NDC MockMUN 2016, and over 30 seminars in recent years.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the club effectively adapted by organizing virtual events including Sagacity '20, Sagacity 2.0, The Hourglass Talk, Learn to Lead, and Tale of An Entrepreneur. Post-pandemic, the club organized the successful Vintage Exhibition 2021, featuring over 100 culturally significant artifacts that attracted hundreds of students and teachers.

Recognition and Impact

NDIPHC has earned recognition from top-ranking institutions across Bangladesh as home to many talented delegates. Club members regularly participate in inter-college and intra-college programs, representing Notre Dame College with distinction. As the home of the Notre Dame College Model United Nations Secretariat, NDIPHC continues to be the premier platform for youth engagement, diplomatic education, and international relations training at the collegiate level in Bangladesh, preparing the next generation of global citizens and leaders.
